"At Audubon, our
setting provides a warm and nurturing environment... an
environment that encourages the development of the whole
child."
- Gretchen Gross, Director
Audubon in College Park was co-founded by Gretchen Gross in
1974. The center functions year 'round and is licensed by the
NYS Department of Child and Family Services. Audubon was chosen to be part
of United Way's success By Six pilot project to help child
care centers become accredited.
We are very proud that our
staff turnover is very low, so children returning for a new
program see lots of familiar, smiling faces. Our teachers'
credentials range from an Associates Degree in Early Childhood
Education to a Masters Degree in Education.
We are devoted to providing
a quality education and caring atmosphere. At the time of
enrollment, each family is given a personal security code to
gain access to the building. The focus at each
level is more on the social, emotional and physical
development of your child. Your part is essential in this interactive,
extended family environment. Parent-Teacher conferences,
written progress report, as well as daily communication with
your child's teacher will keep you informed of your child's
progress. Parents are encouraged to join in by chaperoning on
trips and sharing their talents and professions with us.
